Chicken & Egg Films
Chicken & Egg Films champions women and gender-expansive documentary filmmakers with funding, mentorship and access. Founded in 2005, it has granted more than $14 million and supported over 500 filmmakers, whose films have gone on to Academy, Emmy and Peabody recognition. I led development of the organisation’s site — a large, structurally complex publication with a lot of moving parts.

CMS for a deep content structure
I designed and implemented the content management system for a site with genuinely complicated structure — programs, grant cycles, filmmakers, films, news and long-form editorial, all cross-referencing each other. The model had to hold those relationships without making the editing experience harder than the content it describes.
Search and blog engines
A search engine spanning the whole site, so a filmmaker, a film, a program or an article surfaces from one query, and a blog engine for the organisation’s ongoing editorial output.
Design system
A design system tying it together — a bold display-type identity on acid green, applied consistently from grant pages to filmmaker profiles, so a site that grows constantly still reads as one publication.
